Haggs Bank Bunkhouse and Campsite

Whether you want to get away from it all on your own and explore the natural world, or get a group of friends together for some fun, Haggs Bank Bunkhouse can help you create some great memories!

Set in the stunning location of the North Pennines, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and England’s first UNESCO Geopark, this area is known as England’s Last Wilderness.

The North Pennines has a vibrant history of lead mining as a result of its amazing landscape. Haggs Bank Bunkhouse was originally part of this industry, being a mine shop and forge for the miners to rest their heads and mend their tools between shifts underground.

Today, Haggs Bank Bunkhouse offers travellers a friendly welcome within a warm, renovated building with a touring site with electric hook-ups and the adjoining campsite in our wild flower meadow offers an option to get even closer to nature!

The whole site has been created to help keep our environmental footprint to a minimum. We have our own private spring water supply and treatment plant to make sure any water leaving our site after we’ve used it is of the highest quality. The building has superb insulation to keep it toastie warm all year round! We are currently applying for our Green Tourism award.
