Haggs Bank Bunkhouse & Campsite Terms and Conditions

Whilst every effort has been made to ensure that particulars of the accommodation offered are accurate, and will be available as arranged, we can accept no responsibility if the accommodation does not, in fact, meet with your requirements. Before making a reservation, please check that the accommodation and its location are entirely suitable for ALL members of your party. We are happy to answer any questions regarding suitability of property for your party e.g. position, steps, access etc.

1. Booking Deposit

Bunkhouse & Campsite:

A provisional booking can be made but in order to secure a booking we ask for full payment of accommodation at the time of booking. The booking will be considered as confirmed only when the appropriate payment has been received. All transactions are in pounds sterling.
Our preferred method of payment is by bank transfer/bill payment/BACs however payment can also be made through PayPal or with a cheque made payable to Haggs Bank Bunkhouse.

Please ensure you include your surname and the booking dates as the payment reference.

Please notify us at the time of booking if you intend to pay by cheque, we will only hold a provisional booking for 7 days. Haggs Bank Bunkhouse will take no responsibility for delays in postage or carriage of cheques.

A confirmation booking statement will be sent out via email where a contact email address has been provided. The booking reference number displayed on the booking statement should be recorded and retained safely as proof of booking and payment.

The person making payment will be deemed the lead person (unless otherwise specified) and assumes responsibility for the accuracy of the booking, acceptance of the terms and conditions, the payment details submitted and for conveying all necessary booking details and the terms and conditions to the other members of the party.

2. Prices

For the bunkhouse:

Prices are per person per night unless sole use of the bunkhouse has been booked. The price includes tax, use of bedding, linen, showers, drying room, kitchen and equipment.

Stag/hen parties or large groups of 18 or more will be required to take sole occupancy of the bunkhouse.

For the campsite:

Prices are per person per night and include tax and use of the toilets and showers.

For the motorhome/touring caravan pitches:

Prices are per vehicle to include 2 people, electric hook up, use of Elsan point and toilets and showers.

Additional people must be added at the time of booking.
Vehicles are not allowed on the grass at any time, this includes motorcycles.

NB: Fires and disposable BBQ’s are prohibited unless the owners are informed on arrival and provision is made to avoid damaging the grass and/or grounds. There are facilities made available to dispose of such items. Management reserve the right to evict anyone seen causing damage to the site.

Please use bins provided to recycle all waste.

Please do not dispose of large items such as tents and disused camping equipment in the general waste. Please take all such items home with you.

3. Cancellation

Please note that payment at the time of booking is non-refundable however if you must cancel, please inform us at the earliest possible opportunity! We will make every effort to offer you suitable alternative dates in order that you do not lose your opportunity to stay with us.

4. Insurance

All guests are strongly advised to take out adequate insurance against cancellation, damage to baggage, loss and/or damage to property etc.

5. Security Deposit

We are very proud of our newly opened, lovingly restored Bunkhouse, please respect it and keep it in good condition.

We ask for a deposit of £10 per person on arrival as a security/key deposit. This will be returned to you on your departure and upon return of your key.

For groups of 8 or more, the Party Leader is required to accept and sign the Terms & Conditions. The signatory accepts liability for the behaviour of all party members, for ensuring that conditions of booking are adhered to, for loss or damage to the accommodation, its contents and equipment. Please report any damages or breakages immediately.

6. Arrival & Departure

Guests may take possession of their accommodation anytime between 3pm and 10pm on the arrival date (unless otherwise agreed) and should vacate the accommodation by 10am on the departure date. No liability can be accepted should adverse weather or travel conditions delay your travel plans, so please inform us at the earliest opportunity.

7. Age Restrictions

Persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult who shall be responsible for them. Groups and families are required to have suitable numbers of adults to ensure the good conduct and safety of party members and other guests. Children under 5 are not permitted within the bunkhouse unless part of a group that has booked the bunkhouse for sole use. All decisions in this regard are at the discretion of the Bunkhouse staff.

Responsible adults are required to familiarise themselves with safety and emergency issues and actively consider the risks associated with hazards, including bunk beds, kitchen equipment, water and road traffic. Your attention is drawn to the proximity of the road in front of Haggs Bank Bunkhouse and the hazards associated with the River Nent that adjoins the carpark area of the site. Parents or guardians of young children are advised that persons under 7 years are not recommended to occupy the upper bunks.

Children of all ages are welcome on the campsite, with under 3s staying for free.

8. Occupancy

Only those persons listed on the booking form may occupy the accommodation. We reserve the right to terminate the booking, without refund, to vary or re-allocate the accommodation if this condition is breached or where all material facts are not disclosed. Beds within the bunkhouse may not be sub-let.

9. Admission and Eviction

We reserve the right to refuse admission to anyone who, in the opinion of our staff, is not fit to take charge of the property or be in the company of other guests. In any such case the contract will be terminated without further liability.

We also reserve the right to terminate the Contract at any time or remove any person or persons (or persons being responsible for others), due to unreasonable behaviour, damage to property or causing or likely to cause injury, annoyance or offence to other guests. Any refund will be entirely at the discretion of Haggs Bank Bunkhouse.

Haggs Bank Bunkhouse is a no-smoking building. Sand bins are provided outside on the patio and adjacent to the shower room entrance for butts. Persons smoking, misusing alcohol or drugs render themselves liable to eviction. Illegal activities will be reported to the authorities.

Our staff have the right to enter any room at any time as occasion may demand to ensure that cleanliness is preserved and for routine maintenance to be carried out.

10. No Smoking Premises

Smoking is prohibited anywhere within the bunkhouse. There will be a £50 charge for deep cleaning of room(s) if smoking has occurred. Smoking is permitted on the site however please dispose of cigarette butts responsibly, sand bins are provided around the site for this purpose.

11. Personal Effects including use of the secure equipment storage facilities

We will not be held responsible for the loss or damage to personal property of guests occupying the accommodation or using the secure equipment storage. All property, vehicles, their contents and personal effects are on the premises and car park entirely at your own risk.

A storage container is available if you have equipment with you that you would like to store securely. Haggs Bank Bunkhouse accepts no liability for any loss or damage that occurs during the use of this storage. This storage will remain locked at all times with the key held by the Duty Manager.

Guests within the bunkhouse are welcome to plug in your own electrical equipment however please ensure that your equipment is in sound working order and do not overload the sockets.

12. Accidents

All persons have a ‘duty of care’ for others, so if you see something potentially dangerous, don’t ignore it tell a member of staff or call 01434 382486 or 07919092403. Any accident must be reported to the Duty Manager. All our guests are encouraged to ensure that they have adequate property and personal accident insurance for their stay.

Haggs Bank Bunkhouse site has been created to blend with the natural environment consequently there are many uneven surfaces within the grounds. Extra care should be taken when exploring the site.

13. Pets

We are sorry but pets are not permitted anywhere inside the Bunkhouse. Well behaved dogs are permitted on the site, however they must be kept on a lead at all times whilst within the site and we ask that you clean up after your dog immediately on all areas of the site (including the wildflower meadow and more natural areas of the site).

14. Noise & Disturbance

Please consider others. Guests are expected to consider the consequences of their actions and to minimise any noise, especially between 11.00pm and 8.00am. No late night disturbance will be tolerated!

15. Accommodation

If for any reason the accommodation is unsatisfactory please inform us immediately so that appropriate action can be taken. We cannot accept subsequent claims for shortcomings not so notified.

16. Barbecues
Barbecues are permitted on the campsite provided that they are raised off the ground. We also have a purpose built firepit on site which can used with wood available to purchase.

17. Wildflowers

We love our wildflower meadow which includes some beautiful orchids. You are very welcome to explore the site however please do not pick ANY of the wildflowers or plants.
